Education and Real-Life Applications Classes are offered to you as a guide in making better lifestyle choices to reach your health goals. They are designed to provide you with the foundation and tools you need to conduct effective decisions for a better sense of overall well-being.
What are the objectives of the classes?
These classes will allow you to:
Gain correct knowledge to make lifestyle changes.
Enhance the understanding of the causes of illness & disease and lifestyle choices.
Build a supportive community of like-minded people in a class setting.
These classes require the patient to:
Attend all the classes offered in the program and do the homework given in the class.
Prerequisite: None
Education Classes (EC)
Twelve 1-hour education classes, once per month offered online, covering various aspects of healthy and mindful living. Following topics are offered each month.
November EC 1
The Pleasure Trap: offers unique insights into the factors that make people vulnerable to dietary and lifestyle excesses.

Fats: Good versus Bad: offers an introduction to fats and explains the science, myths and controversies surrounding this essential macronutrient.

Practicing to Succeed: gives many tips on how to stay on track with your health goals.

Health: Prevention versus Maintenance: explains how plant-based foods contribute to healing and health

March EC 5
Special Occasions: Vacations, Family Events, and Parties: offers an in-depth discussion of planning, packing, and entertaining without compromising your health goals.

Common Myths about Nutrition: It will dispel the many common myths that we have learned that cause us to make less than optimal dietary choices.

The Causes of Lifestyle Chronic Disease: offers an in depth-understanding of the most common diseases that disrupt many lives.

Methods of Cooking and Storing: covers basic cooking methods as well as the methods to retain the highest amount of nutrients in your meals.

The Importance of Exercise: features the importance of movement and fun activities for your overall well-being and health.

The Importance of Mental Health: discusses some of the causes of stress and discomfort and offers an introduction to mindfulness meditation.

The Role of Supplements: will answer important questions such as “Where do nutrients come from” and “Which ones do we need, and why?”

Farm to Hospital, by Dr Ron Weiss; The Connection Between Humans, Plants and the World Around Us
Dr. Weiss discusses the interconnectedness of all living beings and provides action steps you can take to stave off chronic disease and help heal our planet

Real-Life Applications
Three Lifestyle Classes are typically offered every month covering shopping, dining out and healthy cooking. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we will be offering some classes online and postponing others.
Cooking Demos and Tasting
Twelve 1-to 1 ½ hour cooking demos along with tasting, once per month, covering various aspects of cooking, ingredients, and connecting food to healthy and mindful living.

Let’s Toss Class
Yes, it’s all about the salad. Participants will learn how to craft fresh, easy, and nutrient-packed meals, and will get to experience how they can be delicious, too.

Your grocery store is the heart of your health, and learning to maneuver your cart toward health-advancing food is the message.
